2 Steps to Motivate Yourself to Achieve Your Dream

Sit down for a minute and think about what motivates you. If you have a job, ask yourself why. Is it because you want to make money or just because you want to do it for fun? The answer for most people is that they do it for the money so that they can support themselves and their family. There is nothing wrong with this, but it is important to realize why you do something. Think about your goals in life. You might have many ideas that are in your head that you have not done anything with. This could be your life dream to start your own business or it might be an invention you have had in mind for the past 10 years or it could be to step up in your business. There are many excuses that you can come up with that might lead you away from doing something.

There are two important steps in motivating yourself.

1. Do what you are passionate about. This is important because if you love what you do, it will not seem like work as much. This is different for everyone. You must be excited about what you are doing and want to do the very best you can. For example, if you can stay up until three in the morning and not even realize it, you are probably on the right track.

2. Have a reason. You must have a reason to why you want to succeed. It may simply be because you want to do it for yourself or it may be for the money. There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing it for financial freedom. If that is what motivates you, go right ahead and do so.
The final step is to start and just do it. If you really want to do something, think about what the end result and tell yourself you want to do it. It will probably require many hours of work over a period of time, but if you don’t do it, who will? So go ahead and write down the goal of yours and don’t put it off. Start today!

3 Things You Can Do TODAY To Connect with Your Family

Sit down for a minute and ask yourself how you balance your business and family life. Are you the type of person that is in the office from early in the morning all the way into the late evening? If this is the case, consider rebalancing your schedule. Of course there are busy times at work that this is necessary so I’m not saying to simply tell your boss no and get fired.

1. Take Vacations and Take Advantage of the Weekend
This is an important step to do regardless of what profession you are in. If you are working for yourself, be sure to schedule in the time for a vacation. Decide for yourself if you want to take several smaller vacations or if you want to take a larger vacation. Weekends are also an important time to relax and take a break so that you are able to start the next week off felling good.Take time for Yourself

2. Make a time for yourself to schedule “me” time.
This is a time that you can do whatever you want and just relax and not worry about anything else for the time. A good time for this is either in the morning before work or in the evening when you can relax for between 30-60 minutes. During this time eliminate all distractions such as cell phones and alarms. This step is essential and should be “scheduled” into your day so that you are sure to get around to it. Consider it to be as important as a meeting at work that you would only miss for an emergency.

3. Eat Dinner Together
Diner is an important bonding time with your children and/or spouse. If you are always getting home late and rarely eat together, start by doing this AT LEAST several times a week. This may not be possible everyday, but is something that should be done as much as possible.
